rom mid-century mambo to underperformed orchestral works, the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts’ upcoming season has something for everyone. The fall kicks off with a tribute to Latin bands of the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s, concludes with “Cinderella” by the Russian National Ballet Theater and covers many different cultures in between. All in all, the season reflects the diversity and quality that the Lehman Center has come to be known for. This fall marking the 35th season for the center, it is a bit of a nostalgic occasion for executive director Eva Bornstein. “As I look back and recall enjoying legends like Smokey Robinson, Patti LaBelle, Johnny Mathis and José Feliciano, we have been a home for many ‘firsts’, like the recent appearance of Michael Bolton,” she said in a statement. “Lehman Center’s 2015-16 season offers a full and varied line-up of performances that stay true to bringing the best headliners, dance, music and cultural attractions to the Bronx.” Here’s a look at what’s in store.
