Equally excited is the director Peter Cox. “I have always been a great fan of the original Wizard of Oz story and especially the MGM film,” he said. “So when the opportunity came up to direct this stunning version of the ‘Untold Story of the Witches of Oz’ I was just wrapped. “The fact that I am now able to once again work with such talent from our Wagga community, in a major musical production, is just the icing on the cake.” This latest production will see the Civic Theatre continue its proud tradition of
producing quality community musicals, which have included The Boy from Oz, My Fair Lady, Oliver and Legally Blonde. Wicked looks at what happened in the Land of Oz before Dorothy arrived. With a thrilling score that includes the hits ‘Defying Gravity’, ‘Popular’ and ‘For Good’, Wicked tells the untold story of Glinda the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West.
