Wagga Rugby League (WRL) has entered into an agreement with Council to project manage the first stage with a budget of $217,048. “WRL requested to manage the overall project in partnership with Council in order to obtain best value and to ensure the maximum amount of volunteer contributions
can be realised,” Mr Creighton said. “WRL are confident, as project manager, they will add significant value by completing additional items from the master plan that are not currently in the scope for this stage. “Council has previously entered into similar agreements with WRL and those projects have delivered excellent value with the Council funding and produced highly utilised venues post development.” WRL chairman Warren Barclay
said the start of works on Stage 1 was a significant step forward. “Wagga Rugby League and Council have a strong working relationship and we are pleased to undertake Stage 1 of the redevelopment of Harris Park,” Mr Barclay said. “Overall the WRL team effort has been fantastic and we look forward to improving the Harris Park ground and facilities for the community as a whole in the coming years.”
