This Spring you will have the chance to experience a sample of culture from over 98 Countries of Origin, 99 Language Groups and 67 Faiths from our Wagga Wagga community during FUSION13: AN EXPLOSION OF CULTURAL ENERGY. Proudly presented by Wagga Wagga City Council in partnership with Centacare South West NSW, Multicultural Council of Wagga Wagga, Riverina Community College and St Vincent de Paul Society NSW. This multicultural extravaganza will
bring the City of Wagga Wagga’s Civic Centre Precinct to life with sights, sound, tastes and smells from around the globe. Spring is bursting with activities including the Little Big Day Out, Dinosaur Week and the return of M.Y. Van these school holidays. There are so many reasons to get excited this Spring in Wagga. Enjoy the festivities!

FUSION13: AN EXPLOSION OF CULTURAL ENERGY If you only attend one festival this spring make sure it’s FUSION13: AN EXPLOSION OF CULTURAL ENERGY. Returning for its third year, this multicultural extravaganza will bring the City of Wagga Wagga’s Civic Centre Precinct to life with sights, sound, tastes and smells from around the globe. Taste the world on a plate, dance and groove along to musicians, dancers and performers drawn from across six continents of the world, and take part in free interactive cultural activities.

Alongside performances from talented local multicultural dancers and musicians, Melbourne based ‘Nicky Bomba’s BUSTAMENTO’ will headline the event. This tropical shaking six piece pays homage to the upbeat rhythms of Caribbean, covering the Calypso, Mento, Early Reggae and Ska styles. In support, the haunting world music sound of Sydney based ‘Tapestry of Sound’, inspired by Indian ragas, Middle-Eastern microtones and Celtic modes.

Calling all HSC students! The Wagga Wagga City Library will be opening exclusively for you to get some serious studying done. Bring your books and your brains, the library will provide Internet PCs, WiFi access and the all important studying snacks.
Little Big Day Out is a free community event aimed at 2-12 year olds. Jam packed with activities showcasing Wagga Wagga City Council’s services, this is a day not to be missed!
Students under 18 will need a completed permission form to attend. This form is available within the library or from the library website.

DJALKIRI: WE ARE STANDING ON THEIR NAMES – BLUE MUD BAY This exquisite series of prints is the culmination of a vibrant and intensive cross-cultural exchange between five highly respected Yithuwa Madarrpa artists and four renowned artists from across Australia. The works resulting from this exchange capture essential aspects of country at Blue Mud Bay in Eastern Arnhem Land, recognised as one of the most pristine and culturally significant places in Australia.

JASON BENJAMIN: EVERYONE IS HERE The works on display in the touring exhibition, Everyone is Here are among the most accomplished of Jason Benjamin’s career. KIRSTIE REA: OF NATURE, NURTURE AND NEED One of Australia’s most acclaimed glass artists, Kirstie Rea is renowned for her kilnformed glass wall panels and sculptures. THE TINYTOREUM
COURAGE TO CARE ORDINARY PEOPLE, EXTRAORDINARY ACTS
This travelling exhibition developed by the Powerhouse Museum is full of tiny treasures and big ideas, it takes visitors on a journey through the imaginary world of Gunna the Goanna and his friends in Shaggy Gully. With words and illustrations by awardwinning team Jackie French and Bruce Whatley, this exhibition will inspire children and adults alike.
This exhibition demonstrates the importance of standing up to prejudice and bullying whenever it occurs. Using tours and talks by Holocaust survivors, texts, objects, and interactives, it tells stories of rescuers and those rescued during World War II and empowers visitors to realise that they can make a difference today.

THE SAUNTERING EMU & OTHER STORIES: LIFE WITH THE BIRDS OF THE RIVERINA This exhibition features the writing of renowned 19th century author and poet, Dame Mary Gilmore, who lived in the Riverina at a time of enormous change to the lives of Wiradjuri people and the Riverina landscape. Five new contemporary objects on display in this exhibition, bring stories of resistance, healing and Aboriginal cultural revival into the present.

BABY BOUNCE Baby Bounce is a four week early literacy programme for 0-12month old babies and their carers. The programme introduces your baby to the rhythm and sound of language using songs, rhymes, books and music. You will also get to meet other carers with babies the same age. Sessions require one lap per baby so please invite extra helpers if you have twins or triplets.
NATIONAL CHILD PROTECTION WEEK Wagga Wagga Regional Family Day Care (WWRFDC) acknowledges everyone’s responsibility to prevent child abuse and neglect and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all Australia’s children. WWRFDC and its Educators will be focusing on Educator Mandatory Reporter training and also developing protective behaviour skills for young children. • •

COURAGE TO CARE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM SCHOOL GROUPS The Courage to Care exhibition features a social tolerance program designed for Years 5 and 6 and Years 7 to 12 school students. This program empowers its participants to take positive action in relation to discrimination and bullying.
