Welcome to autumn From the taste of local produce to the roar of the crowd at the Wagga Wagga Gold Cup – the magic of the Riverina region will stimulate your senses this autumn. Gorge on gourmet treats and delight in some of the Riverina’s top drops at the annual Wagga Food and Wine Festival in March. During Easter, the Murrumbidgee River precinct will explode with colour and light during the inaugural Illuminate festival. Discover the beauty of autumn at the renowned Botanic Gardens and the free zoo and aviary before taking a ride on the ever-popular miniature railway. For the over 50s, grey nomads can enjoy a week of entertainment, bush poetry, games, markets and more at the annual Stone the Crows festival over the Easter period. May will get under way with the city’s premier social racing event the Gold Cup carnival, featuring fabulous fashions and thrilling on-course action. Want more? The artist draws upon research projects carried out at the University of Sydney’s Shellshear and JT Wilson Museums alongside images from life drawing studio practice.

TALKING MACHINES EXHIBITION LAUNCH Fri 12 May Council Meeting Room, Civic Centre 2pm. With Talking Machines, the Museum of the Riverina will reach across generations to give voice to dormant farm machinery and capture hidden histories. Over the next 2 years, the project team will interview the men and women who operated and maintained over 40 remarkable machines, and we will capture footage of many of the machines in action.
