ver wonder what it’s like to put on a radio play? Do you bring out the tissues every holiday season when the film It’s a Wonderful Life is shown on TV? Well, if you like the film starring Jimmy Stewart, you’ll love the play now delighting audiences at Mile Square Theatre in Hoboken. Live on stage, now through Sun, Dec. 23, Mile Square Theatre (MST) revives its little gem of a play, IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE: a Live Radio Play by Joe Landry. For this production, MST transforms into a live recording studio in the Golden Age of Radio, and theater-goers become the studio audience as the show goes “On Air” to broadcast Frank Capra’s holiday story about life, death and the true meaning of love and family. “This is the fourth time we’ve produced this play, and each production draws bigger audiences, MST’s Artistic Director Chris O’Connor says. “For me personally, I never tire of it. The show is lifeaffirming, and this year Joseph Discher takes the helm as director.” Discher’s wellknown for his work at Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, stints Off-Broadway and

In this case, It’s a Wonderful Life can appeal to the entire family. “I’m always moved by the story of George Bailey’s journey,” O’Connor says, “and where he comes to truly appreciate the values of community and family.” If you go Now through Dec. 23 Thurs, Fri, Sat, 8 pm; Sun at 3 pm It’s a Wonderful Life Mile Square Theatre 1400 Clinton St, HOB www.milesquaretheatre. org (201) 683-7014 Tix: $30-$40; $18 students/seniors
