HUDSON HAPPENINGS HUDSON RESTAURANT WEEK RETURNS AFTER 2 YEAR HIATUS
After a two year hiatus due to the pandemic, Hudson Restaurant Week returns to inject the restaurant scene with a little help to beat the winter blues. In winter 2020, Hudson Restaurant Week boasted the largest restaurant week to date with 70+ participating businesses… two years later they are back building again after COVID left the industry spinning. This year, Hudson Restaurant Week returns from February 28 through March 11, 20022. More than twenty participating restaurants from Bayonne to Edgewater are offering something everyone has been waiting for – deliciously discounted prixfixe menus. Despite
omicron, cold wintery weather, staffing woes, rising food costs… the participating restaurants will be throwing down for you. Tamara Remedios, founder of Hudson Restaurant Week, notes, “We started back in 2005 with just 15 restaurants and have grown a bi-annual tradition that tens of thousands look forward to. When the restaurants are ready they’ll be back. For now we will support and promote this year’s participating restaurants with the same love and energy we always have.” As of now, new restaurants added to the list are Fat Taco Tequila Bar and The Yacht Club. You can find the entire list of participating restaurants and their menus at: www.hudsonrw.com by February 20.

EUGENE O’NEILL FESTIVAL HUDSON THEATRE WORKS Cont’d from cover Hudson Theatre works will present two plays
Now to February 27 Thursday -Saturday 7pm Sunday 3pm .
Desire Under the Elms Eugene O’Neill’s masterpiece of erotic desire takes a Greek tragedy and sets it on an American Gothic farmstead. The son can see that his father’s new young wife plans to push him out. His passionate hatred for her is only matched by hers for him. Blinded by passion, they are set on a collision course. But the rest of the world is not blind. Hughie High-rolling gambler Erie and Hughie, the credulous night clerk at a single-occupancy hotel, were confidants. Hughie admired Erie for his bold lifestyle and Erie considered Hughie his good luck charm. When Hughie dies unexpectedly, Erie’s luck changes for the worse and he finds himself in dire straits. Then Erie meets the new night clerk who reminds him enough of
Hughie that he takes the gamble that his luck is about to change.
