DAY 1 – Arrival in Split

Arrive at Split airport for transfer to the magnificent twin-masted MS Mendula. You’ll be welcomed by the crew who’ll help you settle in. Then perhaps take a stroll ashore before enjoying dinner in the ship’s charming restaurant. (D)

DAY 2 – Split & Postira

The Dalmatian coast boasts towering limestone cliffs, secret coves and idyllic bays. We drop anchor for the first of several opportunities to swim off the ship’s platform. Then we head to the quaint fishing port of Postira and board all-terrain vehicles to explore. Brač is known for its stone – a mix of marble and limestone. We visit a masonry school to learn about this ancient craft and also the Olive Oil Museum in Škrip, to sample the produce. We remain moored tonight in either Postira or Povlja. DAY 3 – Postira, Bol & Jelsa

We arrive in Bol, with a cluster of little fishing boats jostling in its harbour. Explore the winding lanes, with blooms cascading from wrought-iron balconies. Later we arrive in Jelsa on the island of Hvar. Inhabited since Neolithic times, it became a naval base during the 14th

DAY 4 – Jelsa & Korčula

Known as Black Korčula by the Greeks due to its thickly forested interior, this island was ruled by the Venetians for 800 years and was famed for supplying timber. The explorer Marco Polo was born here. After our guided walking tour, there’s free time. Later, enjoy dinner in one of the island’s charming restaurants. DAY 5 – Korčula & Vis

Enjoy another swim stop on our way to Vis, the most remote of Croatia’s inhabited islands, was used as a Yugoslavian naval base and closed to visitors until 1989. Step ashore into its gorgeous harbour and, after a guided

DAY 6 – Vis, Hvar & Solta

The lush island of Hvar has pine and eucalyptus forests, ancient olive groves and lavender fields. You could take an e-bike tour around its centre. See the majestic St Stephen’s Square and try a hearty bowl of gregada, fish and potato stew. Visit St Stephen’s Cathedral to admire the 13th-century paintings. Or see the renaissance monastery, or climb to the Spanjola Fortress. Later we moor on the pretty island of Solta for the Captain’s Dinner, with a delicious, locally-inspired menu. DAY 7 – Solta, Trogir & Split

Trogir’s lanes are tucked behind an attractive waterfront and imposing 15th-century walls. See its beautiful cathedral. Enjoy a swim stop and lunch on board on the way to Split, where we have a guided walking tour, including the huge Roman ruins of the Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, used in ‘Game of Thrones’. Perhaps choose the old town for dinner before returning for a nightcap on deck, against the backdrop of Split’s legendary skyline. DAY 8 – Return home
