DAY 3 – Bratislava

The Slovakian capital of Bratislava has recently rekindled its past in the restored old town, and the impressive 17th-century castle commands expansive views across the Danube. DAY 4 – Dürnstein & Melk

Dürnstein is famous for the ice-blue tower of its abbey and the castle where Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned. This morning join a guided tour of Dürnstein and after lunch visit the remarkable Melk Abbey, originally a castle and today a monastery. The final

DAY 5 – Salzburg or Linz

Take a walking tour of Linz’s charming baroque old town or visit Salzburg where you’ll discover the imposing Hohensalzburg fortress, the wonderful Hellbrunn Palace and the gardens of the Mirabell Palace. DAY 6 – Vienna

Vienna provokes images of elegance, fine music and Baroque architecture. Perhaps the most iconic monument is Saint Stephen’s Cathedral which dominates the city skyline. DAY 7 – Budapest

Cruise through the Hungarian landscape towards Budapest and after lunch enjoy a sightseeing tour of this captivating city. The Ottomans ruled for 150 years, leaving their legacy in the many thermal baths and then Budapest came under the imperial rule of the Habsburg Empire. Castle Hill is Budapest in microcosm: with its churches, museums, atmospheric streets and dramatic views to the Parliament Building. You’ll also have plenty of free time to immerse yourself in the culture and history. This evening’s Gala Dinner closes with a Hungarian folklore show.
