Life on board

Staying on board a Riviera River Cruises ship is like staying in a floating boutique hotel. Our ships are truly world-class and one of the youngest on Europe’s waterways. There’s a country club casual atmosphere and dress code. Your guests will enjoy first-class service from an English-speaking crew and delightful dining, with meals prepared by professional chefs and served by attentive staff.

The on-board amenities are fantastic, with most of our vessels featuring a sauna, steam room, pool, fitness suite, library, and even a hair salon or treatment room. There’s also a 24-hour reception, complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the ship, coffee and tea stations in public areas of the ship, a sun deck with outdoor chairs and sun loungers, as well as complimentary bicycles (except on the Douro ships).

Also worth knowing...

• On-board the currency is the Euro and Visa and MasterCard are accepted on all ships • There’s a laundry service available at an additional cost, but no dry cleaning service • Riviera operates a non-smoking policy on board, although smoking is allowed in specific areas on the outside decks • Discretionary gratuities are paid in cash on board and the suggested amount is €8-€12 per person per day, although the choice is entirely up to your guests • All ships have European plug sockets (Type C with 2 round pins). MS Emily Brontë,

MS Thomas Hardy, MS Oscar Wilde,

MS William Wordsworth, MS George Eliot,

MS Geoffrey Chaucer, MS Douro Elegance and MS Douro Splendour also have

USB plugs • Wheelchairs and mobility scooters can be used on excursions but cannot be used on board and must not be left in corridors due to safety reasons
