BETTER DESIGN THROUGH RESEARCH // In 2015 we threw out the conventional way of thinking and endeavored to create bows designed to meet what archers and hunters need. With that in mind, we hired an independent research firm and tasked them with conducting a nationwide survey of hundreds of consumers who had purchased a new compound bow in the past year. We then invited some of the most respected dealers across the country – many of whom were not selling Martin at the time – to participate in a series of meetings to get their honest feedback on Martin and the industry. In all, we spent a fortune and countless hours to understand exactly what we needed to do in order to provide the best bows in the industry, and even help grow the sport of archery. NEW STANDARDS FOR QUALITY // With revolutionary bows under development, we overhauled our quality control process with zero tolerance for imperfection. We now source all of our major components from best-in-class American suppliers and require that every part is inspected to our tolerances before it arrives in our facility. Each bow is meticulously hand-made in Walla Walla, inspected against a 26-point checklist, test-fired, and tuned before receiving final approval. All of our employees are incentivized on quality, not volume, and they take great pride in delivering perfect bows every day. THE FIRE // Some changes are planned; some are thrust upon us. In the middle of developing the new product technology and design, one of our buildings in Walla Walla burned down. Thankfully, no one was hurt. While the fire disrupted our manufacturing capabilities, it allowed us to completely rebuild our compound bow manufacturing process and operations from the ground up – a new start to ensure production and quality control are as thorough and precise as the new designs. We are now running at full capacity once again with a streamlined process that promotes product quality above all else. We appreciate all the support from the entire archery community during our recovery, and we look forward to proving we are ready to lead once again.
