What happened: Over 800 business and community leaders came together to celebrate the Rogers Lowell Chamber’s (RLC) 2023 accomplishments, Community Awards winners, and the Small Business of the Year. The event featured a brand-new luncheon format from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 7 at the Rogers Convention Center.

The Dick Trammel Good Neighbor Award: This award is the Rogers community’s highest honor. It’s presented each year in recognition of an individual who has contributed to the betterment of Rogers and the region.

The Rogers-Lowell Spirit Award: The Chamber recognizes a Rogers-Lowell Area organization, business or other group each year with this award for significant contribution to the betterment of our community.

The Elbert S. Graham/Elza Tucker Award: This award is the Lowell community’s highest honor. It recognizes an individual for significant contribution to the betterment of Lowell and the region.

Small Business of the Year: Small businesses are a vital part of our local, regional and national economy. The RLC Small Business Council helps the Chamber identify and recognize four outstanding small businesses each quarter who are automatically qualified for this award. Guest speaker, Jon Harrison: Jon’s mission is to transform workplace cultures into positive, thriving entities.

• For over 30 years, he has touched the lives of thousands of employees across the world and driven increased performance for their organizations through his process “The VIP Way.”

• He helped us understand how to build a better culture and improve engagement with workers, creating a happier, more productive environment for retaining employees.

SMALL BUSINESS Corner

WHAT’S NEW: The final step of the Rogers Lowell Chamber rebranding is to update the website. This refresh includes updating the Small Business Toolkit and resource page.

WHY IT MATTERS: The Small Business Toolkit is our free online resource that provides information to start, run and grow your small business. Business owners will find links to articles and information on relevant topics facing the business community.

NEXT STEP: We are asking for your help in this process. As we strive to be the trusted source to businesses across the region, we want to provide as many links and resources as possible.

• If you have a free resource that truly helped your business whether articles, videos, podcasts, etc. please share them with us. A submission does not guarantee placement in the toolkit, but the more resources we can provide, the better we can serve business and community together.

THINK IN SPANISH!

HOW IT STARTED: Our group of companies developed a Spanish media platform over the last several years that includes:

• Univision and Telemundo, (the top 2 Spanish networks in Arkansas)

• Spanish AM/FM station La Poderosa 106.1 FM, 1250 AM

• Social media following of 50K+ Spanish-speaking followers and growing!

WHY IT MATTERS: This platform, with local newscasts and a local radio show, represents a unique opportunity for advertisers to grow their business by marketing to the growing Hispanic consumer which is approximately one out of five people in NWA currently.

WHY THINKING IN SPANISH?

• Hispanics represent most, if not all, the growth in the Fort Smith-Fayetteville region and studies have shown that they prefer to be reached in Spanish and not English.

LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT 75 YEARS OF

building spaces that connect communities

Founded as a small construction company 75 years ago, Nabholz has grown into a strong team of professionals serving our clients, communities, and each other.

We are proud to have partnered with the City of Rogers to construct the Railyard Bike Park. The park plays an important role in connecting the Northwest Arkansas’ community to key retail and recreational destinations — a testament to the region’s remarkable growth.
