n the city Where Possible Lives, there’s a lot happening, especially downtown. It’s a new energy, a buzz that has not been felt in a long time. Wide-eyed amazement might best describe the reaction of many who haven’t visited Downtown Rogers in awhile. As one approaches downtown from nearly any direction there are visible signs of progress everywhere that the initiative is moving forward with reaching its goal of revitalizing the historic core of the city. contractors and realtors are collaborating and working together with the City of Rogers and the RogersLowell Area Chamber of Commerce taking steps toward making implementation of the Downtown Master Plan (development plan) a reality. Visit downtown, glance up to see the tallest building, and one might just see construction crews installing the final segments of roofing, reminiscent of Spanish tiles, as they move sure-footed five stories atop the old, majestic Lane Hotel. to locate a school in this stately building that once served as an elegant home away from home to vacationers, business travelers, actors and dignitaries from 1929 into the 1960s. Most recently, the building served as a residence for senior citizens until 2003. The Foundation is giving new life to this elegant 42,000 square foot downtown structure. Moving to the eastern-most edge of downtown, visitors are impressed with a new Railyard Bike Park along with significant enhancements and expansion of trails surrounding Lake Atalanta.
