Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce Hosting Cybersecurity and Fraud Seminar
C
hamber to Community (C2C) is an opportunity for Chamber members and the community to get together for education and discussions on a variety of issues impacting our communities. More than half of all cyberattacks result in financial damages. While cybersecurity is a concern among all businesses, the majority of all targeted cyberattacks in the past year were directed at small and mid-sized businesses. The Cisco 2018 Security Capabilities Benchmark Study found that more than half (54 percent) of all cyberattacks result in financial damages of
more than $500,000 including, but not limited to, lost revenue, customers, opportunities, and out-of-pocket costs. That amount is enough to put an unprepared small/midmarket business out of operation—permanently, which is why 60 percent of small businesses which suffered a cyberattack went out of business within six months. Arkansas Economic Development Commission Manufacturing Solutions in partnership with the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Cybersecurity and Fraud seminar for small and medium-sized businesses on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 10:00 a.m.

OZARK REGIONAL TRANSIT RECEIVES FIRST OF TWELVE NEW BUSES FROM FTA GRANT April | 2019 – April 28 saw the receipt of the first of twelve new buses Ozark Regional Transit received from a grant awarded by the Federal Transit Administration, a division of the U.S. Dept. of Transportation (DOT). This first arrival represents the obvious, tangible recovery of the remaining 12 buses lost in the January 2017 fire; 20 buses were lost and eight were replaced with insurance funds. For the first time in ORT’s history, they had enough purchasing power to create their own specifications for their fleet. This simple difference alone offers greater efficiency with parts inventory and fleet maintenance for the long-term. The new and completely restored fleet will allow for more long-term planning for the inevitable rollover of vehicles as they age. The new state-of-the-art buses are low-floor and diesel powered, and have the latest in cooling technology, allowing them to cool off passengers on hot days within seconds. The new buses will be used to transport passengers to and from Downtown Rogers and Lake Atalanta during the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce’s The Good Life Experience August 23, 2019. All ORT vehicles are wheelchair accessible and all Fixed Route buses are bicycle-friendly. Information on Curb-to-Curb Service and FixedRoute transit can be obtained by calling ORT at (479) 756-5901 or visiting ORT’s website: www. ozark.org.

Sound of Rogers Songwriters Event Debuts Visit Rogers Music Branding Initiative
V
isit Rogers, the Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for the City of Rogers, and division of the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce, launched its new music branding campaign at the Sound of Rogers Songwriters concert June 21, 2019. The event was held at The 1907 Building in Downtown Rogers. This new Visit Rogers branding campaign was created to identify, generate, and curate audio content that supports, enhances and furthers the Rogers brand. Visit Rogers is partnering with Marketing Through Music (MTM) and MTM’s creative director Kenny Lamb to identify clear goals in the campaign’s message and identity and infuse music and words into storytelling visuals to establish the voice of Rogers. The vision is that ear and eye-catching content will become shareable, compelling ways to shine the desired spotlight on Rogers. “This music content goes live at Sound of Rogers Songwriters events,” Visit Rogers Executive Director J. R. Shaw says. “These events shine the spotlight on Rogers songwriters and artists making a name for themselves in the music industry. Three artists sang their compositions at

the June event, reflecting on their Rogers roots, and revealing how Rogers helped make their music possible. Headlining the June event was Rogers native and Nashville songwriting and recording artist Palmer Lee. A graduate of Belmont College in Nashville, Lee began her songwriting career as half of country/folk duo 3rd & Union with Chase Coy. Their 2012 full-length debut was critically acclaimed by The Washington Post and the last track on the album, “No More,” was featured on the television show Degrassi. Palmer has also released an EP and full-length record on her own. Local artists Caleb Enyart and Sierra Carson rounded out the evening’s lineup.
Levi’s Gastrolounge and Lowbar provided light refreshments for the event, and an afterparty was held at Hapa’s Hawaiian Bar and Grill in Rogers. The event was filmed and recorded for use in the branding campaign. “Video from these events provides authentic content that promotes Rogers as an emerging music and entertainment destination, showcasing artists from diverse genres” says MTM Creative Director Kenny Lamb. “We want to make this content personal to Rogers, to own the moments with its brand, and to tell a consistent story through the local artists and songs that are all part of the Rogers soundtrack.”

ALAN JACKSON WITH WILLIAM MICHAEL MORGAN | AUGUST 8, 2019 Alan Jackson’s repertoire withstands the test of time; it has impacted a field of artists who cite Jackson as an influence. Released in 1994 and fueled by blockbuster No. 1 singles “Lightning Crashes,” “Selling The Drama,” “Glycerine,” “Comedown” and “Machinehead,” breakthrough albums Throwing Copper and Sixteen Stone sold more than 20 million albums combined. Both were spotlighted on Rolling Stone’s list, “1994: The 40 Best Records From Mainstream Alternative’s Greatest Year,” and remain timeless favorites, thanks to radio staples that include “Everything Zen,” “Little Things,” “I Alone” and “All Over You.”
THOMAS RHETT WITH DUSTIN LYNCH, RUSSELL DICKERSON AND RHETT AKINS | AUGUST 15, 2019 Thomas Rhett scored his first No. 1 hit in 2013 with “It Goes Like This,” introducing a sound that mixed the southern swagger of county music with pop hooks, R&B grooves, soulful strut and the anything-goes attitude of rock.
NELLY, TLC & FLO-RIDA | AUGUST 20, 2019 Nelly is a diamond-selling, multi-platinum, Grammy award®-winning rap superstar, entrepreneur, philanthropist and TV/ Film actor. One of the greatest legacies in music history can be summed up by just three letters—TLC. Those characters merely hint at the talent of Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, and the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, but they immediately evoke an unparalleled journey nonetheless. Flo-Rida is one of today’s most vibrant and recognizable superstars, a true international icon and history-making hip-hop hero. Since bursting out of the gate a decade ago in 2007 with the RIAA seven-time platinum-certified hit, “Low (Feat. T-Pain)”, the Miami-based rapper has unleashed an undeniably amazing string of record-breaking, multi-platinum certified singles.
THE SMASHING PUMPKINS AND NOEL GALLAGHER’S HIGH FLYING BIRDS WITH AFI | AUGUST 23, 2019 Formed in Chicago, Ill. in 1988, The Smashing Pumpkins released their heralded debut album Gish in 1991 and found mainstream success with 1993’s four-time multiplatinum Siamese Dream and 1995’s ten-time multi-platinum Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. With more than 30 million albums sold to date, the two-time Grammy®, MTV Video Music Award and American Music Award-winning band remains one of the most influential alternative rock bands in the world. Noel Gallagher has been one of the United Kingdom’s most loved and successful songwriters for over a quarter of a century. His latest album Who Built the Moon? debuted at No. 1 in the UK and was certified gold in less than two weeks of its release and marked his 10th consecutive chart-topping studio album in the UK — a feat no other artist has achieved.
SHERYL CROW AND JASON ISBELL & THE 400 UNIT | AUGUST 30, 2019 A nine-time Grammy® award recipient, Sheryl Crow is an American music icon.
