Our Year 10 student, Scott Heron, placed 5th in the Mens 13-14 DMT at Nationals which were held in Auckland, 21st-24th July 2021. Scott represented the Bay of Plenty and was part of the Bay of Plenty Gymsports Nationals Team.

RUGBY VICTORY
In the last week of the school holidays we had 7 of our girls rugby players and 2 boys playing for Central BOP U16/18 teams in the Toi Ohomai Youth Development Tournament. Both girls teams managed to win silver in the finals!
They were all fantastic and did a great job! Well done! Our girls were: U16 Girls Maraea Paul (captain) Manawa Gates, Dylan Guptill.

FANTASTIC SWIMMING

Three RLHS students qualified to compete at NZ Secondary Swimming Championships in Auckland last weekend along with over 700 students from around the country.
Samuel Trass (15yrs) smashed his personal best time in the 200 butterfly to place 8th nationally and secure a new qualifying time for the New Zealand Open Short Course Championships where he will compete in August. Samuel showed his versatility placing well in 50 backstroke, 200 backstroke, 50 fly, 100 back, 20th 100 fly and 50 free with a new personal best time.
Hannah Kiernan (13yrs) racing at her first national competition improved her national ranking in most of her 11 events. Her strongest performance was her 200 metres Breaststroke where she dominated her timed final and lowered her time by over 2 seconds to place 11th. Hannah also placed well in 100
