Robyn Kirsch

I am a news reporter for the O'Fallon Progress, a weekly subsection of the Belleville News-Democrat, covering a comprehensive crime and city news beat. I have an Associate of Arts degree in 2009 from Southwestern Illinois College and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mass Communications, with a focus in print and electronic journalism and a historical studies minor in 2012 from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville. Prior to graduation I worked for the SIUE Alestle newspaper working my way from reporter up the ladder to Managing News Editor and Opinion Editor. Completing my SIUE communications internship at the Belleville News-Democrat helped cultivate my skills as an ethical, driven and insightful journalist. Chasing a story allows for exploring new avenues, building relationships and keeping accountability in local government and communities, which proves rewarding with every passing day.
