WAIHI EAST SCHOOL SCHOOL NEWSLETTER 20/2015

1 July 2015

Kia ora The end of the term is upon us already. Thank you for your amazing support of our children and their activities. Particular mention to our coaches, transporters and supporters of weekly sports. Thank you for helping our children Rise Above and Shine. Thank you for your huge turn out to our Whanau/Pacific Rim performance and kai. We were so proud of your child's performance, and what an awesome kai. Next term all classes will be transformers! Technology will be the focus with each class transforming / improving an area of the school. As a holiday project, your whanau may like to come to school and look around. Have a korero– what can you spot? What would be cool? How inventive can we be? Classroom brainstorming starts next term. Come and join in the fun. Today the Board of Trustees are interviewing people for the Deputy Principal position that starts in term 4. We will text all whanau the decision the BOT comes to as soon as possible. As we head into the holidays, could you please keep an eye out around our school. Over the weekend we had some silly behaviour– teenagers running on the school roof. Sounds like great fun, NOT! On Police advice– if you notice anything, please dial 111. Thank you to Lana and Donna D for providing milo for our tamariki. It is fab to be able to provide a hot drink on frosty mornings. Like Baked Bean Tuesday, our tamariki organize this. Impressive leadership by our students. Golly, back to that word– proud! Safe and happy holidays. We look forward to seeing you on July 20th. Nga mihi nui, Emily (ehargreaves@east.school.nz)
