WAIHI EAST SCHOOL SCHOOL NEWSLETTER 37/2015
25 November 2015
Kia ora, An absolute massive thank you for your energy, enthusiasm, mahi/work and motivation behind our Twilight Market. Who would have thought our school could raise the funds for 3 LifePods, and then have another one donated? Our school will make a difference, our school will save lives. Thank you for making it happen. It is a surreal feeling of just bliss. Well done Waihi East School! Behind every good project there are a team of amazing souls who dig deep and make sure we overcome our challenges and meet our targets. Our truly hugest thanks to the Spicer and Burke whanau, and Lisa North in the office for driving this baby! The Waihi East School community thinks you are stunning! Ross has been busy coordinating the opening of our school pool. Work has just been completed on the filters and we aim to open the pool in the next week or so. Our thanks to Ross for organizing and preparing the pool for the coming summer season. Pool keys will be available soon at a cost of $20 per key. We would appreciate one key per whanau, as the pool key fee helps pay for pool costs. Congratulations to our athletics team who competed in Bethlehem yesterday. The Waihi East School participants were Jackson, Lillie, Madison H, Bernie, Emily, Avlon and Monika. It was awesome to have such a large crew of students compete at the next level. The school is looking forward to Wella’s concert on the 9th of December at 2pm. Our music students invite you to come along and see their development over the year. Wella will be available after the concert to chat to any whanau if you are considering music tuition in 2016. Cool Bananas, a Christmas performance group will be at school on the 4th of December for a 11.30am show. Please contact your child's teacher or the office if your child is not to attend. Children participate alongside actors, it is a fab show with a lovely meaning behind it. All whanau are welcome to attend. KIDS’ PAGE Letters of apology to the Three Bears From Goldilocks By Room 9 Dear the Three Bears I’m sorry for coming to your house and eating Baby Bear’s porridge and breaking Baby Bear’s chair and sleeping in Baby Bear’s bed. I should have stayed and said sorry but I was too scared. I will never come back until you invite me to your house. I’m super sorry. Do you want me to come over to help you fix Bay Bear’s chair and make you guys some porridge? You are my best friends. From Goldilocks. By Dylan L, age 8. Dear Bears I am so sorry for what I have done to your chairs, beds and porridge. I shouldn’t have come into your house uninvited but I just love porridge. Baby Bear I am sorry for breaking your chair and sleeping in your bed but I was so tired. I hope you have a new chair. I loved your bed, it was so comfortable. I am feeling very sorry so I would like to have you for dinner at my place in the woods if you want to come. My house is not as clean as yours. From Goldilocks. P.S. I will have some honey for you when you come. By Sabine R , age 9. Dear the Three Bears I’m really sorry for coming into your house. When I was walking past your house I couldn’t help myself. I am especially sorry for breaking Baby Bear’s chair. I am also really sorry for sleeping in Baby Bear’s bed. I should never go into someone’s house even if the door is open. I will never do this again, it is unnecessary. When I jumped out of the window I should have said sorry then but I didn’t because Daddy Bear looked very terrifying. Please forgive me. I will never come again until you invite me. Would you like to come to my house for dinner? For tea, it will be on Saturday at 5.30. From Goldilocks. By Brooke K, age 8.
