The boroughs along the banks of the canal are becoming more and more commuter villages. With residence in new apartments having little connection with the area other than to sleep. Economic boom which fueled the drive to gentrify, has reversed. Many projects put on hold or stopped completely, leaving gaps in the Urban Fabric, Uncertain Spaces, Forgotten Spaces. 5

The regents canal was once a vibrant bustling highway of commerce and trade through out London. It now stands idle defunct by the automobilisation of London save for a few longboats which offer an alternate inner city london life. The towpath which Strings together the boroughs of Hackney Islington, Newham and Camben act as a human image name goes here
highway, which runs counter to the North South vehicular routes in to and away from the City Centre. These routes are traversed by runners, cyclists and pedestrians, on the way to work the shops, home or just a stroll.

The Olympics and the Community Connecting he Schools of inner city London to the Olympics. Walking down the regents canal towpath the screams of kids can be heard from St John Primary school. It starts me thinking, what will be the benefit of the Olympic, what is there connection to these Heros of the world. Surely the game is more than just a spectator sport, seen on tv, read about heard about. But actually an experiance to be witnessed a chance to engage in courage and inispre the youth of Brittain. Inner city schools do not hav access to the kind off fascilities with these athletes. There is potential to inspire young minds to achieve, to see the pontential inside all of us.
