RMD D16 Courier November Thankful For Service Hello Division 16! This will probably be my shortest newsletter every, but I’m working on a very special edition next month that’ll focus on how your club can make a difference during the holiday season. I just wanted to share how thankful I am for each and every Key Clubber in our Division for making my life so wonderful and for all the officers that go above and beyond to keep service important in Northern Colorado.

Fundraising 101 1. Integrity Fundraising: This company gives your club the option of selling several baked goods. For every item sold, the club earns $5 and when this can add up extremely fast. 2. Homeroom Change-Drive: Have a simple change drive with a price for the winning homeroom. Pennies add 1 point, silver coins deduct 5…it’s as simple as that 

3. Torture the Teacher: A variation of the classic change drive. Have students vote for the teacher they want to be embarrassed at a school assembly or sporting event. 4. Coffee Sales: Set up Café Key Club at your high school during finals week, many companies like Einstein’s Bagels and local coffee houses may be willing to donate.

5. These are just a few of my favorite fundraisers. There are hundreds more under the serve tab at keyclub.org! Hope you have happy fundraising!

So You Want To Be Lt. Governor? As a senior, my position as Lt. Governor for Division 16 will be vacant after I graduate. Possibly interested in running? Then I’ll give you the in’s and out’s of the job and the election process so you can really know what it’s like being Lt. Governor

What is Lt. Governor?

How do I run?

Lt. Governors serve on the District Board and represent around 8 schools. They serve as the liaison between the District Executive Officers and International Officers to the Key Club membership. The District Board meets 4 times a year to collaborate, plan District Convention, and plan service projects. Lt. Governor elections will be held at Spring Rally in March (date tba). Each candidate will be given 10 minutes to prove their candidacy before voting. Candidates need to get a 2/3rd vote to be nominated for their home clubs in order to run and should have a 3-5 minute speech prepared for their time slot.
