At Ronald McDonald House CharitiesÂŽ of the Ozarks, we keep families close as their stories continue.

Rebecca & Rachel, Age 9

TOMS

Toms Residents of Seymour MO in 2007, Nathanael and Hope’s twin daughters were born at 31 weeks and life came into perspective. As Rebecca and Rachel fought for their lives, the Ronald McDonald House® provided a safe place to call home. Nathanael could still go to work, and Hope was never far from her daughters’ sides. The Ronald McDonald House provided a refuge during one of the darkest times of their lives. During their 5 ½ weeks at the House, Hope, Nathanael and older daughter Juliana found comfort in hearing other families’ stories, referring to the experience as a “bonding of hearts”.

Trot, Age 11

KINSER

Kinser Debbie and Tim Kinser felt immense fear and isolation when their youngest son, Trot, was born at 2.12 lbs after Debbie’s struggle with an autoimmune disorder destroying 40% of her placenta. Arriving 11 weeks early, Trot was born with near-transparent skin, a severe lack of nutrition, and an uncertain future. For 23 years, Debbie has been a dedicated staff member at Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks, but sharing the same hardship as our House families brought her experience full circle. Support from others and family togetherness were key for Debbie, Tim and their older son True, providing hope for a happy, healthy future.

Josiah, Age 6

ARAMBULO

Arambulo In 2013, Amy and Rudy Arambulo of Branson MO received devastating news when their youngest son, Josiah, was diagnosed with leukemia. Everything was about to change and their family was catapulted into years of treatments, hospital stays, and unpredictability. Josiah’s hospital stays were frequent, and like so many children, he wanted his parents nearby. Amy and Rudy alternated nights staying with their frightened son, while the other rejuvenated at the Ronald McDonald House. The Arambulos also cared for their older sons Gabriel, Julian and Damian. Their incredible strength helped them face each day’s new trials; and with Josiah’s final chemo treatment just a few months away, their family remains amazed at the generosity shown at the House that Love Built.®

Wyatt, Age 4

VAU G H T

Vaught At just 24 weeks pregnant, Wyatt Vaught entered the world by C-section, not breathing. He was immediately placed on a ventilator and spent the next month in the NICU. With two other children to care for, Mitchell and Dinah Vaught of Kirbyville MO divided and conquered. Mitchell was able to continue to work, and Dinah stayed close to the hospital focusing on taking care of little miracle Wyatt, older son William, and daughter Kennedi. The cherished relationships grown at the Ronald McDonald House gave them the strength to conquer each day’s worry, and with the power of God’s grace, Wyatt was released and went home at nearly his due date.

Cain & Colt, Age 2

COLLINS

Collins Dave and Rebecca Collins were ecstatic to receive the call from Missouri that the twins they were adopting had been born. They quickly learned that their baby boys, Cain and Colt, were in the NICU and after an eight-hour drive from Tennessee, they arrived by their sides.

Unsure how long their babies would remain in the hospital, Dave and Rebecca found a home at the Ronald McDonald House. The home-cooked meals and comfortable atmosphere lightened their homesick feeling. After 4 weeks and countless prayers, the boys were released and they returned to Tennessee as a new family of four. The Collins celebrated the boys’ first birthday by asking friends to donate to the Ronald McDonald House.

When you Adopt a Room at the Ronald

McDonald Houses, you are giving the gift of hope. You are giving families of seriously ill and injured children a place where they don’t have to be brave or strong — a place where they can experience the fear or sorrow over what their child is facing without censure. Your contribution helps make the Ronald McDonald Houses possible. More than 800 families come to our Ronald McDonald Houses each year as their child faces challenges no child should face. The community of support found at the Houses helps families write chapters of strength in their ongoing stories. By Adopting a Room for 2017 in one (or both) of our Houses, you are keeping families close and many times, helping kids heal faster. Heart the Houses and Adopt a Room today using the enclosed response card, by calling 417-875-3505, or giving online at HeartTheHouses.org.

Thanks to generous people like you, every room in our Ronald McDonald Houses is filled with love, care, compassion and hope. Every room is part of our families’ stories. Our Houses have been HOME to more than 11,200 area families of seriously ill and injured children.
