FAMILY PROFILE

Lewis-Cutchall

Home: Clarkridge, AR (Baxter County)

In April of 2019, before the birth of our son Easton, I was transported from Mountain Home, Arkansas to Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri due to complications. Living 2½ hours away from Springfield, my family was unsure how they would be able to commute daily to be with me. Thankfully, one of the nurses helped us get connected with the Ronald McDonald House so my family had a place to stay before Easton was born. A few days later, the rupture of my amniotic fluid forced Easton to enter the world ten weeks early on April 5 weighing 3lbs 9oz. He was admitted into the NICU at Cox South for the next 5½ weeks. During this time, the Ronald McDonald House became our “home-away-from-home”. We felt so welcomed by staff and volunteers at the House who treated us like family and even gave us gifts for Easter and Mother’s Day. We enjoyed nightly meals with other guests prepared by volunteers. We found comfort talking with other families and the reassurance of having a place like home to relax and regroup after hours spent at the hospital. RMH provided us a home where our family could be together near Easton. The Ronald McDonald House helped lighten the load of an otherwise stressful situation for our family; and we are so thankful that charities like this exist. Our family and the other families that stay at RMH are fortunate for the volunteers and contributors who spend their time and money to make a difference in situations like ours.
