FAMILY PROFILE
Archer Family Home: Harrison, AR (Boone County, AR)
We have had multiple experiences with Ronald McDonald House Charities.
The first was in 2010 when our daughter, at almost 3 weeks old, was air lifted to Houston, Texas from the local hospital with a high fever and an umbilical hernia. It was a very trying time as we were an Active Duty military family who lived 2 hours away from Houston, were stationed away from all of our family, and had 2 young boys at home. During this time, we were so blessed that the Ronald McDonald House let us have our boys there with us to keep our family together until my mother’s flight arrived from Missouri. More recently, our daughter was diagnosed with precocious puberty and had to complete testing to confirm this diagnosis. Once treatment had started, special testing was required that entailed multiple lab draws during the day, and then again 24 hours later. During this time, we were able to yet again use the Ronald McDonald House to help avoid traveling long distances on multiple days. It was so wonderful to have accommodations that were so warm and inviting, a hot meal, and staff that cared about us as if we were family. Ronald McDonald House Charities is such an amazing organization with so many good-hearted volunteers. Many families have had far worse emotional and trying times than we have experienced. I know what a blessing this organization is to the families that it serves. It alleviates the worry of where to sleep, what to eat, and truly allows families to simply be there for their child. So please donate to this charity and continue to help ease parents’ minds in their time of need. Thank you, the Archer Family!
