Dawson Family

Home: El Dorado Springs, MO (Cedar County)

On Friday, December 29, 2017,

my husband and I welcomed our twins, Madison and Lincoln Dawson. They were born at 28 weeks and 4 days and both weighed 1 lb. 12oz. Due to being so early and small, Madison and Lincoln were admitted into the NICU at Cox South in Springfield, MO. We are very grateful for the Ronald McDonald House, it was right next to our babies that were housed in the NICU at Cox South for 130 and 132 days. Our home is over 80 miles away from the hospital, thus, without the Ronald McDonald House, it would have been impossible to be with our babies every day. When we arrived at the Ronald McDonald House we were welcomed by the staff and given a grand tour. The House truly felt like our “home-away-from-home” and our room was extremely cozy with a lavish private bathroom. On May 7, 2018, Madison came home after being in the NICU 130 days and on May 9, 2018, Lincoln came home after being in the NICU 132 days. They both came home on oxygen and went off oxygen on August 27, 2018. Today, the twins are doing wonderful. Madison now weighs 16lbs 12oz and Lincoln weighs 18lbs 5oz. We are forever indebted to the hospitality, comfort, and kindness the Ronald McDonald House and staff bestowed upon us, especially in some of the most trying and emotional times of our lives as our babies were in the NICU.
