of the Ozarks.
The mission of RMHC of the Ozarks is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well being of children and families right here in the Ozarks. We dedicate our efforts and resources to two core programs. First, Springfield’s two Ronald McDonald Houses have welcomed nearly 13,000 families of seriously ill and injured children hospitalized in Springfield over the past 30 years. The Tooth Truck (our Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®) provides dental treatment and prevention education for at risk children with no access to dental care. We’ve completed the treatment plans of more than 24,000 kids since 2002 and started an on-site daily tooth-brushing program called the Healthy Smiles Academy.

The finishing touches are nearing completion on the modern contemporary home of Ryan and Cathy Kruger. The Kruger family enlisted the design expertise of local architect, Dale Peer, to bring their vision to reality in the picturesque Lexington Square development in south Springfield. The expansive, open floor plan built by Terry McKee of MGM Properties was designed to ensure that the family feels together even when they are in their own areas of the home. Beautiful, large-scale family portraits by local photographers, Randy Bacon and Heather Robbins, adorn the walls throughout this amazing home. The master suite features vaulted ceilings, shutters, a shiplap headboard built by Cathy’s father and custom walk-in closets. The kitchen and living areas on the main level flow out into a charming outdoor living space complete with a kitchen, custom pool and water feature. The home’s lower level is perfect for entertaining and a sports enthusiast’s dream. Multiple televisions ensure that guests can view numerous sporting events at one time while enjoying a beverage from built-in beer taps. This level also features a home theatre, a gym and a special guest room with four built-in bunk beds for the Kruger’s extended family and overnight guests. Long-time Ronald McDonald House Charities supporter, Nathan Taylor of Obelisk Home, will join Cathy in adorning the Kruger home for the holidays.

The European-rustic home of Phil & Sharon Noah was originally built in the seventies as a California-style open concept three-level residence. In 2011, the Noahs purchased the home and began a four-year effort to renovate the home, including a two-story expansion on the back. This incredibly talented couple took on a large portion of the modernization themselves and contracted with Jody Christy who dedicated one full year to help them realize their dream home by creating handcrafted cabinets, staircase railings and custom doors. The home features wood ceilings and beams in every room. Tile floors on the main level are from Spain and complement the couple’s European antique furniture collection. The Noahs designed their kitchen and bar areas incorporating Phenix marble, which is native to Missouri. This type of marble is cut into two distinct patterns. Napoleon Gray was used for the bar counter and was cut across the stones’ natural layers revealing a dark veining similar to a seismographic. The kitchen counter features the Fleuri cross cut and has the recognizable presence of fossils. The home’s lower level features a home theatre, bar area with tin ceilings and firefighter theme, a tribute to Phil’s career with the Springfield Fire Department. The one-of-a-kind lighting was designed by the Noahs and crafted by Randy’s Antique Lighting. The couple repurposed the columns, terra cotta tiles and lighting from Springfield’s Macaroni Grill. With these unique columns, they created an amazing arbor and outdoor living space. During the holiday season, Sharon will add an abundance of Christmas décor to this already fabulously decorated home.
Original Interior Décor by Stacey Landrum
The contemporary modern home of this Ronald McDonald House Supporter is located near the 11th hole of Highland Springs Country Club. The home was originally built in 2014 by Scott Landrum with the interior décor designed by his wife, Stacey. The style and interior selections of this 9,000 square foot home fit the current owners so perfectly they made the decision to purchase it completely furnished a year ago. As you enter the home, vaulted ceilings and expansive windows with custom silver and gold drapes serve as the backdrop for the formal sitting area. Beyond these windows is the “outdoor room”, the family’s favorite area of the home. This room is complete with an outdoor kitchen and dining area and a casual sitting area that flows perfectly into an amazing outdoor living space. The kitchen features custom cabinetry, a butler’s pantry and a television recessed into the hood over the stove. The upper level of the home features the rooms of the couple’s two children. Haden Long of Ellecor created the perfect sitting and study area for their daughter’s suite and an industrial rocker bed is the main feature of their son’s bedroom. The lower level features a Kentucky Bourbon theme as a tribute to their love for the Kentucky Derby. A bar, big screen television, air hockey and shuffleboard make this area perfect for entertaining family and friends. Close family friend, Dene Myers, will adorn this incredible home for holidays.

Highland Springs
The modern contemporary home of Shawn & Trish Whitney is located in the Highland Springs development overlooking the Highway 65 and James River Expressway interchange. Originally built in 1993, the Whitney family purchased the home just over a year ago. They enlisted the design expertise of Haden Long of Ellecor Design to establish a new color palette and make interior design selections for all flooring, furnishings, appliances and light fixtures. Haden also re-designed the bar area of the home’s lower level to include a wine cooler, subway tile, custom cabinetry and shelves built by her husband. This newly renovated area is the heart of the family’s entertainment area with designated space for billiards and ping-pong. One of the most striking features of the Whitney home is their vast collection of art. Upon entering this expansive residence, you are welcomed by “The Glass Bridge”, a dramatic art piece commissioned from local artist Gavyn Sky, inspired by their love for the Bahamas. Gavyn’s work, known for a high resin finish that produces a glass appearance, is featured throughout the home. The home also features the work of well-known Ozarks area painter Susan Sommer-Luarca, as well as the treasured art collection from the extensive travels of Trish’s grandmother. Ronald McDonald House Charities’ supporter, Haden from Ellecor, will join the Whitney family in creating a festive holiday atmosphere for this year’s Cup O’Cheer Homes Tour.

The beautiful federalist home of Clif & Gail Smart was built around 1900 and is located in the exclusive Meadowmere Place neighborhood. Their home for twelve years, it largely appealed to the Smarts for its entertainment potential. This magnificent home underwent extensive renovations 25 years ago, adding a two-story expansion to the back of the original structure, an amazing outdoor living space and a porte-cochére. Previously, former Missouri State Senator Bradshaw’s wife developed a unique built-in shelving structure to house her collection of cookbooks. Over the years, Sandra Quebbmen of Classic Home by Design has assisted the Smarts in creating a unique decorating style accented by old family photographs and treasured heirlooms. The formal sitting room is adorned with an antique piano belonging to Clif’s grandmother, who was once recognized as the Arkansas pianist of the year, and a sofa acquired from the historic Inn at Carnall Hall in Fayetteville. Additional pieces of admiration include Clif’s great-grandmother’s quilt, hanging in the master suite, and Gail’s mother’s nursing cape preserved in her memory. Among the featured rare photographs you’ll find a 1930’s image of Gail’s grandfather with the Hot Springs High School Football Team, a 1950 portrait of the Arkansas Boys State featuring Clif’s father; and Gail’s grandfather included in the 1942 Arkansas National Guard. Ron Johnson of The Thicket will be joining Gail in decorating this fabulous home for the holidays.
