Baylor Stephens Home: Bolivar, MO (Polk County) Our sweet Baylor joined us two months earlier than we expected on December 23, 2016. After mama was diagnosed with preeclampsia and transferred to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, we learned Baylor was small for his gestational age – known as Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR). He was 2 lbs. and only 13 inches at birth. He spent 60 days in the Neonatal ICU, during which time we were able to stay in the Ronald McDonald House. It’s hard to put into words how grateful we were to have the opportunity to be in the same building as our baby while he was fighting to grow. It allowed us the flexibility to easily visit him, but also rest as needed without feeling guilty because he was so close. As if this wasn’t enough, RMH also provides homemade meals daily, laundry access, and a comfortable area to meet with visitors. Thank you for your contribution to the Ronald McDonald House – it keeps families together during an emotional time full of unknowns.
