On March 6, I went in for a normal doctor appointment

and then ended up at the hospital for my baby Taylor’s high heart rate. After further checks, we found out that I was in active labor and having contractions but didn’t even know it. With no luck of stopping contractions, the decision was made around 2:30am on March 7th to send us to Springfield. I was only 30 weeks at the time, so Ozarks Medical Center wouldn’t have been able to take care of him if he made his appearance early. Once we arrived at Cox South, I was monitored until the contractions stopped and was discharged on the evening of March 8th. Wanting us to stay close in case Baby Taylor decided to make an early appearance, our doctors referred us to the Ronald McDonald House where we stayed until April 3rd. We were very blessed to stay at the Ronald McDonald House while in Springfield. We were greeted with loving and open arms the very first time we walked in, and then every day the staff saw us after. By providing us a place to stay and a hot meal, the Ronald McDonald House helped us to be able to pay our bills and keep gas in our car during this difficult time. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay or a better staff than what we had. You never realize exactly how much or how many people the House helps until you experience it. We could NEVER thank them enough for the hospitality we received on a daily basis. If you feel led to donate to a charity, I would definitely look into the Ronald McDonald House.
