In December 2020, I unexpectedly

experienced PPROM (preterm premature rupture of membranes) at just 27 weeks pregnant and was admitted to Mercy Hospital. My daughter, Logan, was born on December 23rd, 2020, at 13 weeks premature and was admitted to the NICU at Mercy immediately. I knew she had a long stay in the NICU ahead of her, but I had no idea how long she would need to be there. I couldn’t imagine leaving the hospital or being anywhere far from her while she was in the NICU. The Labor & Delivery nurses at Mercy suggested I reach out to the Ronald McDonald House, and RMHC welcomed me with open arms. They provided me a room with a bed, a mini fridge, a shower, and more. Every night I was there, they had dinner available to eat, and the staff was incredibly amazing. Because of RMHC, I was able to be with my daughter in the NICU every single day. I got to spend time with her, hold her, be there for all of her feedings and procedures, and experience every little milestone she achieved. Logan was able to come home after 68 days in the NICU. I will always be grateful for RMHC and their kindness. They were there for me in our time of need, and I can’t thank them enough for that.
