Family Home: Bolivar, MO (Polk County) We were expecting our first child, a daughter, in early August; but on May 25th, Sarah was hospitalized with preeclampsia, and Lily was born on May 28th. Coming ten weeks early, Lily weighed just 2 lbs. 6 oz. She was in for a hard fight ahead and needed all the help she could get. Lily needed her parents involved most of all, but we lived nearly an hour away from the hospital. If it wasn’t for the Ronald McDonald House, she would not be doing as well as she is today. By taking us in, RMH allowed us to spend the necessary time with our daughter to help her progress to go home. We can’t thank the Ronald McDonald House enough for what they did and the family they helped build. Being there introduced us to numerous families to support and get support from. It’s not just a place to stay. It’s a place to heal, grow, and share. Our time there was so helpful for us, as well as our daughter, and we were blessed every day.
