All-Star Weekend June 7th & 8th

Share A Heart The 26th Annual Share a Heart Campaign numbers are in, and we are very pleased to announce another record-breaking year! With $108,911 worth of hearts adopted at McDonald’s, $1,200 in heart donations through Alpha Delta Pi, $536 from Wyndham associates, and the generosity of our sponsors, we are once again impressed with the dedication of our supporters and excited that the campaign will net nearly $125,000 this year (an all-time record!). These numbers aren’t possible without the support of our community, and we thank you for sharing your heart and helping us expand the mission of the Ronald McDonald Houses. A huge shout-out to our sponsors, McDonald’s of the Ozarks, Great Southern Bank, KY3 and Mid-Am Metal Forming. Our reigning “Share a Heart” Champion also keeps his title with an impressive $12,000 raised by TJ Slocum. With the help of his parents, Randy and Debbie, TJ continues to show his enthusiasm by selling more hearts than anyone each year. Since 2008, TJ has raised $113,341 for the Ronald McDonald Houses of the Ozarks, and we are very grateful for his dedication. PRESENTING SPONSOR

Mission Moment We received the most adorable card in the mail from a kiddo; he wanted to remind families of how brave they are. What a sweet reminder to our families that people of all ages are thinking of them often!

Staff Stuff Mackenzie Meyers

We are so excited to have Mackenzie Meyers joining our team. Mackenzie is a graduating senior at Missouri State University who has earned her Bachelors of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology with minors in Psychology and Chemistry. Mackenzie has been accepted to the graduate program at Missouri State University and will continue her studies to earn a Master’s Degree in occupational therapy. She started volunteering at the Cox House in October 2017 and was ecstatic to become a Family Care Manager. As a previous volunteer, Mackenzie is excited to get to work with the volunteers and her fellow Family Care Managers. She loves anything to do with being outdoors including hiking, fishing, and sports. Mackenzie also enjoys being creative with making her own home dÊcor, painting, and cooking/baking.

Laura Meeks Please welcome new Cox House Family Care Manager, Laura Meeks. Laura is a new face around the Cox House. She started volunteering in January 2019 on Sundays and fell in love with the organization immediately. Laura currently works full-time at a local flower shop in town but could not pass up the opportunity to join the RMH team. She was looking for an outlet to give back to her community and has found the perfect fit! One of her favorite parts about working here is getting to work so closely with our awesome volunteers. When she is not working at the House or at the flower shop she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and two cats. Laura is excited to begin her journey with RMH and is looking forward to getting to know the families and volunteers more.

Fish Tank

We are excited to welcome new residents to the House at Mercy Kids! Thanks to a generous donation from Stone Financial, we now have a beautiful 50-gallon fish tank and 31 new fish friends! These fish are sure to put a smile on the faces of children and parents alike! Thank you Stone Financial for the tank and Aquarium Consultants for your donation of ongoing care and maintenance.

A Trip to Monett By Abbie Dohmen

Springtime is here! For the Tooth Truck, this means we devote time to serving outlying areas, including Willard, Billings, Clever, and Cassville. This year, we were able to add Monett School District to our schedule to offer much needed dental services to the children of this community. A very special thank you is in order to the Fuldner Family Foundation for a generous donation to help underwrite our visit to Monett. The first stop we made in Monett was at the elementary school. Nurse Kayla, along with the principal and other

front office staff, could not have been more welcoming. Multiple teachers and school staff made known their excitement for the Tooth Truck coming to visit to address the needs of their students. Did you know Monett has a wonderfully diverse population? We saw at least two patients that recently moved to the Monett, MO area from a small village in Guatemala where no services were available to their families. With the help of the school’s staff and an on-site translator, we were able to communicate the

patient’s dental needs to the family and take care of some muchneeded treatment! The Tooth Truck had the opportunity to treat children and youth at four Monett schools. 149 children received 267 appointments for a dollar value of $206,253 free of charge for these families. 489 cavities were repaired over the course of 26 clinic days. How exciting to be a part of that! We love being mobile since it allows us to travel wherever the needs exist, including communities like Monett. Nurse Kayla Bryan, Dr. Sarah Cimino, Principal Sarah Garner, Ginny Fuldner with the Fuldner Family Foundation, and Assistant Principal Debra Wycuff celebrate the Tooth Truck visiting Monett schools.

Charlie received a supply bag after his first visit to the Tooth Truck. It is filled with a new toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, timer and special brushing instructions.

Christy is a proud mother of 3 boys ages 2 (Jesse),3 (Hunter), and 19 (Owen). They spend all of their free time outdoors at the lake, river, or going mudding in their truck. Christy absolutely loves making a difference in the lives of children as well as being a dental assistant and teaching the importance of dental health.
