Stallcup Family
Home: Houston, MO (Texas County) After trying to have a child for almost four years, my husband and I were ecstatic when we discovered we were expecting a baby due in February of 2017. We went in for our first ultrasound, and they found not one, not two, but three little heartbeats…we were expecting TRIPLETS! We were so surprised and very happy, but a triplet pregnancy does not come without an untold amount of risks. In November of 2016, I went into pre-term labor. We lived two hours from a hospital equipped with a NICU large enough to handle triplets, so my doctor put me on bedrest, and we were to stay at the Ronald McDonald House until our triplets were born. We had no idea of all the things they do for families, and it was truly an eye-opening experience to what an amazing organization and resource they are. Because of the Ronald McDonald House, my husband was able to stay in Springfield with me until the babies were born. They provided us with three meals a day and a wonderful room, and we met so many amazing staff members that touched our lives. On December 22, 2016, our babies were born during an urgent C-section because baby C was in distress, and the doctors didn’t want to chance another day. So, two months early, Ellie, Russell, and Weldon Stallcup came into this world weighing 4 lb. 9 oz., 5 lb. 5 oz., and 3 lbs. 10 oz. All needed medical intervention and immediate care in the NICU. Not only did the Ronald McDonald House provide a loving place for us to stay during my pregnancy, but also now as we faced this NICU battle. We stayed at the House from November 2016 to February 2017. We always felt welcome and at home, the staff was so friendly, we were able to connect with other families and have formed lifelong friendships due to our stay there. I honestly believe that our babies would not all be here with us if it wasn’t for the amazing generosity of the Ronald McDonald House. They have blessed us beyond words, and we could never thank them enough!
