Home: Conway, MO (Laclede County) On June 25, 2017, I remember hearing Emma’s first cries and immediately followed by what we all thought was the world’s cutest cooing ever. The nurses soon informed us that the sound she was making was actually something that they were worried about, and before I knew it she was being taken to the nursery and then onto the NICU. She had come down with pneumonia during delivery, and then was later also diagnosed with campylobacter virus. One of my biggest fears was going home without her. With all of our added stress at the time, it was a relief to know that we didn’t have to worry about somewhere to stay during her duration at the NICU. The Ronald McDonald House provided us with a roof over our heads and a warm meal every night. It was a comforting feeling knowing that we could leave our daughter with the nurses overnight an yet still be close enough in case we needed to be at the hospital quickly. It was more than just a place to stay, it was as if we gained a whole other family. Thank you, Ronald McDonald House!
