BRIEF HISTORY There are no exactly information about the first tailor house in Vietnam or Saigon. However, one of the oldest tailor house in Saigon has started since 50’s century. In Saigon, Pasteur street is one of the area that has so many tailor shop for many generations. In Vietnam, home tailor shop is considered as popular culture. There are many homes run this kind of business for living and keep the inheritance to next generations.
ACCESSORIES In tailor shop, there are items that always be with the tailor such as scissor, chalk, thread, needle, ruler, button, or pencil. Those item are always used in every suit they make.

THREAD
a long, thin strand of cotton, nylon, or other fibers used in sewing or weaving.
RULER
In sewing, ruler is one of the most important item to measure the size before cutting process.

Sewing Mannequin is for testing the clothes size. There are so many different size of mannequin.
DOLL
SCISSOR Scissor is the item to cut the cloth making suit. In tailoring, there are so many kind of scissor that match with different purpose of cutting. A good scissor will make the cut line more beautiful.

MACHINE There are different kind of maching using in tailoring, But in this brochure, I will only show 2 kinds of machine that are used in most home tailor shop. First will be “sewing machine” and second is “overlock machine”
SEWING MACHINE - JUKI
Sewing machine is a machine used to stitch fabric and other materials together with thread. The sewing machine has greatly improved the efficiency and productivity of the clothing industry. Home sewing machines are designed for one person to sew individual items while using a single stitch type. In a modern sewing machine the fabric easily glides in and out of the machine without the inconvenience of needles and thimbles and other such tools used in hand sewing, automating the process of stitching and saving time
An overlock is a kind of stitch that sews over the edge of one or two pieces of cloth for edging, hemming, or seaming. Usually an overlock sewing machine will cut the edges of the cloth as they are fed through Overlock sewing machines usually run at high speeds, from 1000 to over 9000 rpm, and most are used in industry for edging, hemming and seaming a variety of fabrics and products. Overlock stitches are extremely versatile, as they can be used for decoration, reinforcement, or construction.
OVERLOCK MACHINE - JUKI
MAKING PROCESS this chapter will show only pictures of basic step that are used in every clothes making process. There are 5 basic steps as choosing cloth, measuring, cutting, sewing and refining edges.

In First step, the tailor need to choose proper cloth depend on the purpose of clothes they are going to make.

In Second step, the tailor will use chalk and ruler to mark the border they want to cut. This step need to be accurate.
After marking the border, the tailor will use scissor to cut the cloth following the chalk line. This is is very important because it will effect the shape of suit later..

In step 4, the tailor will use machine the start tailoring the clothes. Before, the tailor have to do by hand or not so good machine. Nowadays, by the development of technology, it helps the tailor alot to finish making the suit faster and easier.
For the last step, the tailor will use looper machine to refine the edges of the clothes to make it look better, smooth and straight.

ROLE IN FASHION Nowadays, taloring is not only making formal suit, it is also for casual clothes,. People nowadays wear clothes not only for dressing but also to show their personality, fashion. Realizing that needs, there are so many tailor house nowdays are hiring more fashion designer and stylish to make their clothes on trend and fashionable. By that, more and more beautiful and high quality clothes come out.
