In December last year we sadly lost one of RMIT’s most significant staff members, Bryce Dunkley. Bryce was a photographer, teacher, and self-published author –to name some of his vast contributions to the photographic industry. Bryce had a career at RMIT spanning over 20 years and contributed significantly to the very beginnings of the photography Vocational Education programs. He taught across Foundation Studies and Photo Imaging (certificate and diploma) programs, along with many popular short courses. To summarise his immense contribution to RMIT is not easy to do in words.

Bryce was a supportive and a wise mentor to many photographers making the transition to teaching, as well as a capable and enthusiastic teacher to so many students. He was not only a teacher and colleague, but he became a trusted mentor, collaborator, and friend to many of us at RMIT.

We will miss our dear friend, his warmth and kindness, and the long lunches and shared tales of upcoming photographic adventures.
