INDUSTRY CONNECTIONS & INTERNSHIPS RMIT works closely with industry to ensure students receive knowledge and skills that are aligned with the needs of future employers. RMIT lecturers bring extensive industry experience, providing students with real-world insights and examples. Students can apply this knowledge in their work placement, where they have the opportunity to engage with the industry’s top business leaders. In the final quarter, 61 companies offered internship opportunities for RMIT Commerce and Business students. Those companies included Commonwealth Bank, Ernst & Young Vietnam, HSBC Bank, KPMG, Leo Burnett, Nielsen Vietnam, Nutrifort, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Standard Chartered Bank and TRG.

EXCHANGE AND TRANSFER OPPORTUNITIES TO RMIT MELBOURNE RMIT Vietnam offers a wide range of options for students. You can choose to study your entire program in Vietnam, or you may wish to stay in Vietnam for one or two years and then complete your degree in Australia. Either way you receive the same RMIT qualification and diploma.

Another option is to study in Vietnam but spend a semester or two as an exchange student in Australia or at one of RMIT partner institutions around the world. During your time abroad you pay the more economical RMIT Vietnam fee.
A COMPLETE STUDENT EXPERIENCE
Teams in the final rounds of the RMIT Business Plan Competition are flown to Melbourne where they have the chance to take home up to AUD $100,000 to kickstart their business idea.
RMIT Vietnam supports over 60 student-run clubs across a number of academic, cultural and social interests. The student clubs allow you to take your learning beyond the classroom, and provide opportunities to network, gain new skills, and develop interests and hobbies.
Student competitions are another way to learn outside the classroom. At RMIT, entrepreneurial spirit is fostered through competitions such as the RMIT Business Plan Competition, the Marketing Challenge and the Entrepreneurship Business Pitch.

The Financial Markets Trading Room Simulator (FMTRS), which will be launched in 2015, enables students to be trained in all aspects of financial markets settlements, auditing, money market, risk management, dealing techniques, and market language and conventions. With the capacity to seat up to 30 students at 10 dealers’ desks, classes in the FMTRS will replicate the experience of a large bank or corporate treasury centre.

Marketing involves understanding consumer needs and wants through market research and developing closer relationships with consumers as a result of this knowledge. Careers and Your Future
As a graduate of the program, you will be equipped with the necessary skills and confidence to succeed as an entrepreneur in your own company, a family business, a government or non-profit organisation, or a small-to-medium sized company in any industry. You can develop the specific operations and capabilities within a company, or help develop and grow a young start-up. You can also choose to work with local or international venture capital firms. The knowledge and experience that you gain in the program will open many doors for you. Program Overview
Students in the Bachelor of Business (International Business) program study commerce from an international perspective. This involves not only building a strong foundation in traditional business functions such as marketing, accounting and finance, but also drawing on knowledge from political economy, culture and global entrepreneurship. Students will have the opportunity to adapt business models to different international workplaces. Through our WorkIntegrated Learning courses, students will acquire a global street sense by being sensitive to issues of culture, language, politics, and international law. The Bachelor of Business (International Business) program enables you to pursue a career anywhere in the world, including Vietnam.

Both the Diploma of Commerce and the UniSTART programs are pathways into the Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Business. Pathway programs are ideal for students who want to combine their English training with their undergraduate studies. As a student in a pathway program, you will take part in English courses that combine language and study skills as well as core courses from the Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Business programs. You will receive full credit for the undergraduate courses.
Preparing You for Undergraduate Study Over time, by increasing the number of undergraduate courses you study each semester, the programs transition you into your undergraduate degree at a manageable pace and allow you to build your confidence. You will be supported at every stage and given the tools you need to be a successful student within an international environment. While both the Diploma of Commerce and the UniSTART programs put you on the path to an undergraduate degree, they do differ in duration and entry requirements.
