Overview The BTEC Award is an exciting and challenging course, which will introduce you to the health and social care sector. You will gain important knowledge, understanding and skills that are used by professionals working in the area. You will learn about the development of individuals throughout the lifespan as well as the importance of assessing health and wellbeing.

• Human growth and development across life stages and the factors that affect it; • How individuals deal with life events; • Different types of health and social care services and barriers to accessing them; • Care values; • Factors that affect health and wellbeing; • Health indicators; • Person-centred health and wellbeing improvement plans.
