This year's Spring Concert is Hollywood themed and our orchestras and choral ensembles from Cadogan House and Senior School will be presenting an entertaining evening of film music. The concert is at 7.00pm in the Great Hall on Tuesday 28th March. Prior to the concert, from 6.15pm, we are inviting everyone to have the full VIP Celebrity treatment by coming to Alexandra House, which will be our new Performing Arts centre from September 2018. Here you will get a tour of the building outlining our vision for what will be an amazing and inspiring centre for Performing Arts - wine and soft drinks will also be provided! The doors to the concert do not open until 6.50pm, so it is a good opportunity to see our exciting plans for the near future. I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday evening at 6.15pm at Alexandra House. The building will be signposted from the Great Hall. Daniel Hyde, Director of Performing Arts

BOARDING NEWS Boarders’ Trip to “Wicked” Wicked was simply spell-binding! The story line was very interesting and the younger years as well as the Sixth form borders could not get enough of it. During the duration of the play everyone was filled with smiles and laughter and a few tears. It was even more exciting to bond with the lower years in the bus ride back with very one describing their favourite scene and others attempting to sing songs form the play. This trip is one I wouldn't forget and would love to do something like this again! Elfreda, Yr 12
Boarders’ Trip to “Mother Africa” What a better way to spend Saturday night than with Mother Africa! Our experience was heightened by the low-tech, high-energy performance presented by a troupe made up of men and women from several African countries. As the acrobat balances on the teetering pile of planks and tubes when he was more than five feet above ground, there was no choice but to sit there stunned in amazement. The boarders were dazzled by the festival of physical performance as they perform death-defying, nail-biting and palm-sweating acts. Their performance was infectious as it sets a pace that’s enthusiastic and the boarders were completely immersed as they leap, juggle and perform while backed by a live band. Ice, Year 13

SCHOOL EVENTS “Bang goes RMS” on Thursday, 26th April 2017 The Senior School Science Department, with the support of FORMS, would like to invite you and your family & friends for a fun and exciting evening featuring two Science ambassadors from STEM NET and a series of science demonstrations carried out by current pupils and Science staff. STEM ambassadors use their enthusiasm and commitment to encourage young people to enjoy STEM subjects. They open the doors to a world of opportunities and possibilities which come from pursuing STEM subjects and careers. STEM Ambassadors not only inspire young people, they also support communities by explaining current applications of STEM in industry or research. Other highlights will include Mr Dacanalis making a Hello Kitty “scream” and Sixth Formers making elephant toothpaste. We aim to generate (even more) excitement for the Sciences by promoting both A Level studies and future careers beyond RMS. The evening will start at 7.00pm in the Great Hall and it is free of charge but there will be a collection for the School Charity at the end, should you wish to contribute. If you would like to join us for this celebration of Science please send an email to Pippa Hopkins (phopkins@royalmasonic.herts.sch.uk) and indicate the number of people attending. We hope to see many of you and we recommend it to all age groups from Year 1 to Year 13. Mrs Z Sears Acting Head of Science

Save the date! Join FORMS in welcoming Mr Carson to RMS. FORMS are hosting a welcome party, on behalf of all parents and guardians, on Friday 12th May at Moor Park Mansions. Whilst we love hosting events at School, attendee numbers and acoustics work against us at these kind of events and therefore FORMS have decided to host this year’s party at Moor Park Mansions. Tickets are available to book now on www.trybooking.co.uk/1224. It promises to be a great night with live music, food, auction and raffle prizes, and we hope lots of you are able to attend Nicole Whitfield (Chair of FORMS) and Mathura Paramjorthy (Vice-Chair)
