SCHOOL INFORMATION Celebration of RMS and Boarding Sunday 14th May at 10.30am in the Chapel Each year we have a Celebration of RMS and Boarding event in Chapel which we have at this stage in the Term before pupils start getting caught up with exams and other commitments. It's a lovely event and, while the focus is largely on Boarding, we celebrate RMS as a whole community as well. I'd like to extend an invitation to anyone who'd like to attend and say you'll be very welcome in Chapel for the Celebration that starts at 10.30.

Australia Sports Tour March/April 2017 This Easter, a group of 47 Year 8 – 10 girls were lucky enough to go on a hockey and netball tour to Australia and Singapore. We set off bright and early on Saturday morning ready and excited for what lay ahead. Many of us had worked hard to raise money to go on the trip. We arrived late Sunday evening after two long flights at the Super Sports Centre, on the Gold Coast, very tired but excited for what lay ahead. Read more….

SPORTS NEWS Mini Marathon Success for Grace Congratulations to Grace Ingles who ran in the Virgin Money London Mini Marathon last month, representing the East of England Region. This is run before the main marathon and is over the last 5k (c. 3 miles) of the marathon course, namely from London's Old Billingsgate to The Mall. The event is open to entrants from the nine regions of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, and also includes teams from all 33 London Boroughs. Previous winners of the Mini London Marathon and Mini Wheelchair Marathon include double London 2012 Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah, and competitors from the London 2012 Paralympics – silver medallist Shelly Woods and David Weir, winner of four gold medals. It is extremely competitive even to qualify to run in the Mini Marathon, and Grace earned her place by winning the Hertfordshire County Cross Country Championships in January which gained her a place on the Eastern Region team. Grace had a great run, coming 57th out of at total of 248 runners in a time of 18 minutes and 43 seconds- a great achievement given she was one of the younger runners in her category. Well done Grace!
Athletics This week, our athletes competed in Round 1 of the Athletics County League, with all team members performing well, with several achieving personal bests. At time of writing, we are still waiting for final results. Congratulations to Talia M-K who had a fantastic day in the Intermediate Girls competition—her first outdoor competition of the year. She came first with an impressive 3186 points and has been selected to represent Hertfordshire at the Regional competition in June. Our Junior Girls team, comprised of Freya W, Grace I, Mia I and Miranda C also had some very strong performances, finishing a very close second as a team. Individually, Freya finished 6th and Grace 7th, narrowly missing out on County selection. Well done to all the girls who took part.
