Ceara (Year 9) represents England at swimming Ceara in Year 9 was one of fifty talented young swimmers who last weekend travelled to Italy to compete in the Energy Standard International Meet 2016, against teams from France, Italy and the Energy Standard Club of Moscow. The swimmers were selected to compete as part of the phase 3 talent development for English swimming which aims to support and enhance the development of high quality senior athletes for the future. It was therefore a huge honour to have been selected to compete.
Ceara participated in four events, and came away from the meet with two bronze medals (one for the 4x100m freestyle relay, and one for the 100m individual backstroke) and a silver medal for the 50m backstroke. Huge congratulations to Ceara on this fantastic achievement!

Gymnastics—British Schools National Sports Acro and Tumbling On the Bank Holiday weekend, RMS gymnasts went to Stoke On Trent to compete in the British Schools National Sports Acro and Tumbling Competition. The winners of all regional competitions compete at Nationals so the standard of competition is high. RMS represented the Eastern region. On Saturday, my sister Miranda and I were the first competitors of the day and achieved 2nd place in the O13 Acro Pairs competition. After very close competitions, Mia achieved 14th in the U14 tumbling and Zaharva achieved 15th in the U11 tumbling, even though she is a year young for her age group. On Sunday, the U11 Sports Acro group (Jemima R, Gabi K, Grace R, Zahava O, Ynes M, and Sowmiya P) competed very well and achieved 9th place. Everyone worked hard in training and can be very proud of their achievement in a National competition. Overall it was a very successful weekend for RMS, and on behalf of all the gymnasts, I would like to thank Mrs Charafeddine and Miss Lusted for all their dedication and support training the RMS gymnasts. Tea and Cake with D.J. Kelly Buckinghamshire has a 600 year history of subversion, sedition and espionage. The county has been home to radical plotters, heretics and heretic hunters, agents provocateurs and informers. Two world wars brought spies, secret agents and saboteurs to the county and many of our stately homes housed wartime code-breakers, eavesdroppers, boffins, intelligence chiefs and even Nazi officers. A surprising number of women spies were incarcerated here and the first use of covert surveillance photography was against local women. From religious martyrs and gunpowder plotters to atomic secrets' traitors and the domestic terrorists of modern times – this county has seen it all. Tickets available £5 to include tea & homemade cake. The book will be available to buy on the day RRP £12.99. Click here to book!
