Admissions

Scholarships and Bursaries

The School conducts assessment tests at all levels of entry.

Awards at 11+: Awards are given in recognition of excellence with regard to academic achievement in the entrance examination, Sport, Art, Music and All Rounder potential.

Academic ability is not the only criterion for success, although all girls must meet a standard that will enable them to cope happily at RMS. Family links, enthusiasm, and recommendation from the Headteacher of a previous school are all important factors in the selection process for a school where pastoral care is a traditional feature. Although siblings are given strong preference, there is no guarantee of a place as the academic standard must be met. The School’s Terms and Conditions and Admissions Policy are available on the School website www.rmsforgirls.org.uk . Please note: a girl’s name is only placed on the list of applicants for admission upon receipt of the Registration Form and Registration Fee. Registration Forms should be received by the School by early December of the year preceding admission (exact dates can be found on the website). Entrance examinations and assessments are carried out in January of the year of admission, with offers being made in February (late January for Cadogan House Pre Prep Department). Acceptances must be received by the School by late February (Prep Department) or early March (Senior School).

Awards at 16+: Awards are given for academic excellence, Music, Art / Textiles, Sport and Performing Arts. Bursaries: Bursaries provide financial assistance to enable suitable girls whose parents could not otherwise afford the fees to benefit from an RMS education. Awards are subject to means-testing, and it is not usual for a bursary to be awarded to a pupil below Year 7. The school currently offers a Scholarship Support Bursary and a Hardship bursary. More information about both scholarships and bursaries, and application forms, can be found on the School website www.rmsforgirls.org.uk/scholarships. For more information about scholarships, please contact the Admissions team via admissions@royalmasonic.herts.sch.uk or telephone 01923 725354. For more information about bursaries, please contact the Bursar via bursarspa@royalmasonic.herts.sch.uk or telephone 01923 725308.

A full list of admissions deadlines can be found on the School website.

School Fees School Fees for the following academic year are published in April. For guidance, current fees can be found here www.rmsforgirls.org.uk/fees A 5% discount is given for pupils with older siblings in the School. Full time members of HM Forces and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office will be eligible for a 10% reduction in day fees. Fees for Full time members of HM Forces and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in receipt of CEA will pay CEA+ 10% for Boarding fees.
