The Candidate For CATERING - CLEANING - ENGINEERING - FLEET - FREIGHT - - NETWORK RAIL OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE - PORT WORKERS - TRAIN OPERATING COMPANIES

I am Billy Kimm, I am a conductor/guard and have worked on the railway for 44 years.

I am asking you to vote fo me in the forthcoming NEC Election.

I took a Leading role in keeping the guard on the train & no to DOO campaigns. As Conductor council chair, leading from the front during our pivotal dispute which saw my grade take 47 days of industrial action which led to keeping a guard on Northern Trains.

I wholly support the current national dispute.

I currently hold the following positions: Conductor Council Chair Branch Secretary Regional Council Executive

Never will I compromise when the employers attack any grade. Never will I countenance a railway without station staff, without train crew, without maintenance and operations.

If elected to your National Executive Committee I will defend every grade without exception as I have always done throughout my working life.

Regional Council delegate

I have vast experience of dealing with employers and ACAS. Regularly involved in pay negotiation, and disciplinary hearings (within the railway) defending our members and ensuring they have the representation they deserve. This advocacy has included PMR discussions and dealing with all kind of health & welfare issues for our members, along with attending avoidance of dispute meetings to ensure our members terms & conditions are defended and improved without compromise and with tenacity.

My role as branch secretary of a general grades branch has meant my representation has been needed by many different grades within the railway and beyond. Varying from members of TOC'S, Network Rail, Cleaning companies, Security companies, Shop/food outlet's and the Hotel and Hospitality Industry, within this region and other regions If elected to serve you as your NEC member, I will always act with the utmost integrity, due diligence and with great industry. I will always present your opinions and wishes to the NEC and report back to you with our response.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Billy for many years, and I can confidently say Billy possess the necessary qualities and skills to excel in this position. I believe it's essential to elect NEC Members who are committed and Billy has demonstrated his commitment to members, by sacrificing his own time to help all grades with their workplace issues and playing a pivotal role in helping members within, Cleaning grades, Rail Gourmet, TOC's, Network Rail (Maintenance and Operations) in their recent and current disputes.

I have no hesitation or doubts to recommend Billy Kimm to this position, his record and actions speak for them selves.

Billy simply has no peers when it comes to suitability for this position.

His record for activism, ability and longevity stands way above anybody else’s claims.

The simple facts of the matter are that he has led and or ganised the largest branch in the region for 11 years. He has been the chair of his company council for a decade and been president of the Regional Council.

I know that if Billy is elected that he will do exactly what you have sent him there to do, represent you, the rank and file members, not simply comply with the wishes of the leadership.

I've known Billy personally as a friend and colleague for 20 years plus i have worked along side him as LDC & CC rep for many years, we have travelled the length and breadth of this country and abroad on many rallies, demonstrations, picket lines, meetings etc.
