Quick Hits • The Robert Morris University men’s basketball team opens its 34th season of Northeast Conference play Saturday when it welcomes Mount St. Mary’s for a 4:00 p.m. tip at the Charles L. Sewall Center. • RMU wrapped up its 2014-15 non-conference slate with a 64-57 setback @ Clemson (12/30/14). Freshman guard Marcquise Reed came off the bench to score a game-high 21 points, finishing 9-for-14 shooting from the field, including 2-of-5 from beyond the arc, while going 1-for-2 at the free-throw line. Senior forward Lucky Jones added 13 points against the Tigers, while junior guard Rodney Pryor contributed seven points and registered team highs in both rebounds (9) and assists (3). • The Colonials own a record of 16-17 (.485) all-time in Northeast Conference openers, including a mark of 3-1 (.750) under head coach Andrew Toole. Robert Morris is opening its NEC slate at home for the sixth time in the last eight years. • Freshman guard Marcquise Reed is the reigning Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, as he garnered the honor Dec. 29, 2014. Reed was honored after leading the Colonials in an 84-81 victory over Delaware (12/22/14) in RMU’s last home game with 20 points. • RMU established a season high in field goal percentage in its victory over Delaware (12/22/14), shooting 55.6 percent (25-for-45) from the field. Thanks to the win, the Colonials improved to 25-4 (.862) in five seasons under head coach Andrew Toole when converting at least 50 percent of their field goals. • Over the last five games, the duo of freshman guard Marcquise Reed and junior guard Rodney Pryor have combined to average 30.4 points per contest while shooting 52.7 percent (57-for-108) from the field. Reed has averaged 17.4 points per game over that span and has shot 58.9 percent (33-for-56) from the floor, while Pryor is supplying an average of 13.0 points per contest and is 24-for-42 (46.2%) from the field, including 9-for-22 (40.9%) from beyond the arc. • The Colonials were picked third in the 2014 NEC Preseason Coaches Poll, the ninth consecutive year RMU has been selected to finish in the top three in the league. Senior forward Lucky Jones, named to the 2014 Preseason All-NEC Team, is RMU’s active leading scorer and rebounder with career totals of 1,328 points and 715 rebounds. • From 2007-08 through the 2013-14 campaign, Robert Morris compiled an overall record of 163-81 (.668), with the 163 victories tied for seventh with Akron among mid-major programs in the seven-year span. • Robert Morris takes to the road after hosting Mount St. Mary’s Saturday, opening a threegame road trip Monday, Jan. 5, in Loretto, Pa., with a 7:00 p.m. tip against Saint Francis U. at DeGol Arena.
