Top Story - The Robert Morris University men’s basketball team concludes a two-game road swing through the Garden State Saturday with a 7:00 p.m. tip at the MAC against Monmouth in West Long Branch, N.J., in a contest that will be televised live on MSG. The Colonials are coming off an 88-54 victory @ Fairleigh Dickinson (1/10/13), which snapped a three-game losing streak. Redshirt junior guard Coron Williams led RMU against the Knights with a season-high 27 points, converting nine of his 12 attempts from the field, including 8-of-10 from beyond the arc, while going 2-for-2 at the free-throw line. Williams was one of five players to score in double figures in the victory, as he was joined by forwards Mike McFadden (12), Stephan Hawkins (12) and Russell Johnson (10) and guard Anthony Myers-Pate (10). The Colonials return home to the Charles L. Sewall Center for three of their next four games after taking on the Hawks Saturday, beginning with a 7:00 p.m. tip against Sacred Heart Thursday, Jan. 17.

Quick Stat of the Night - Redshirt junior guard Coron Williams was in the zone in an 88-54 victory @ Fairleigh Dickinson (1/10/13), tying a career-high with eight three-pointers en route to a season-high 27 points. Williams also connected for eight three-pointers in an 87-68 victory over Monmouth (3/1/12) in the quarterfinals of the 2012 Northeast Conference Tournament at the Charles L. Sewall Center. Williams is also the first player to convert at least eight field goals from beyond the arc in a road game since former Colonial Gene Nabors (1995-2000) finished 9-for-15 from deep in a 66-59 victory @ Monmouth (2/5/00), a span of 206 games. Williams enters Saturday’s tilt against the Hawks at the MAC ranked second in the NEC in both three-point field goal percentage (.483) and three-point field goals per game (2.63) and is 22 triples shy of becoming the seventh player in school history with at least 200 career three-pointers.
