Top Story - The Robert Morris University men’s basketball team closes out a two-game homestand Saturday night by welcoming Sacred Heart to the Charles L. Sewall Center for a 7:00 p.m. tip. The Colonials are coming off a 78-76 setback to Quinnipiac (1/12/12), marking the first time RMU has dropped back-to-back games in almost a year. The Bobcats took control with a 10-3 surge with just under eight minutes to play, and Quinnipiac sealed the victory with a 12-for-16 performance at the free-throw line in the final 1:55 of action. Redshirt junior guard Velton Jones tied for game-high honors by scoring all 22 of his points in the second half as one of five Colonials to reach double figures in scoring. Sophomore forward Mike McFadden and junior forward Lijah Thompson each posted 11 points, while sophomore guard Anthony Myers and freshman forward Lucky Jones each finished with 10 points. RMU takes to the road for a two-game swing after hosting the Pioneers, beginning with a 7:00 p.m. tip @ Fairleigh Dickinson Thursday, Jan. 19.

Sophomore forward Lijah Thompson and freshman forward Lucky Jones combined for 21 points and nine rebounds as the RMU frontcourt put forth one of its best games of the season.
