Top Story - The Robert Morris University men’s basketball team takes to the road in search of its fifth straight win by traveling East on Route 22 Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. tip against in-state rival Saint Francis University at DeGol Arena in Loretto, Pa. The Colonials stretched their winning streak to four with an 87-75 victory over Quinnipiac (1/19/13) as redshirt senior forward Russell Johnson paced Robert Morris with a season-high 22 points. Johnson was as one of four Colonials to reach double figures in scoring against the Bobcats, as he was joined by sophomore forward Lucky Jones (18), redshirt senior guard Velton Jones (14) and junior guard Anthony Myers-Pate (10). Both Velton Jones and junior guard Karvel Anderson returned to the lineup against Quinnipiac after missing a game and combined for 22 points in the first half as the Colonials opened up a double-digit lead. RMU returns home to the Charles L. Sewall Center after taking on the Red Flash Thursday, welcoming Mount St. Mary’s for a 7:00 p.m. tip Saturday, Jan. 26.

Quick Stat of the Night - If there’s one Colonial looking forward to getting back on the road, it very well could be Coron Williams. The redshirt junior guard has struggled recently at the Charles L. Sewall Center, averaging just 7.4 points at home over his last five contests. On the road, it’s been the complete opposite. Williams enters Thursday’s game @ Saint Francis University having averaged 17.2 points and 3.4 rebounds over RMU’s last five road tilts, shooting 63 percent (29for-46) from the field, including 68.6 percent (24-for-35) from beyond the arc. RMU’s top threepoint marksman, Williams enters action this week with 183 career three-pointers, which ranks seventh all-time at Robert Morris. Based on his current average of 2.47 three-pointers per game, Williams is on pace to finish the regular season with 213.
