Quick Stat of the Night - Free basketball was all the rage at the Charles L. Sewall Center last Saturday as Robert Morris held on for an 83-79 victory over Wagner (2/9/13) in a game that went to overtime. For the Colonials, it marked their first overtime game at home since St. Francis (N.Y.) upended RMU, 102-97, in two overtimes Feb. 17, 2007. In that contest former Colonial Tony Lee (2004-08) scored a career-high 31 points, but it was former Terrier Jamaal Womack who stole the show. Womack also scored 31 points on the strength of a 9-for-13 showing from beyond the arc, including a three-pointer with 3.2 seconds left in regulation that sent the game to OT. Even with RMU’s first overtime game at the Sewall Center in almost six years, the Colonials are no stranger to the extra period under head coach Andrew Toole. In Toole’s three seasons, Robert Morris has gone to overtime five times, including twice with Wagner, with the Colonials owning a 3-2 (.600) record in those contests.
