Top Story - The Robert Morris University men’s basketball team makes its fifth postseason appearance in the last six years and 10th overall in its 37-year Division I history Tuesday when it welcomes Kentucky to the Charles L. Sewall Center for a 7:30 p.m. tip in the first round of the 2013 National Invitation Tournament. The Colonials are making their second appearance in school history in the NIT and first since 2008, when RMU dropped an 87-81 decision @ Syracuse (3/18/08). Over the last six years, Robert Morris has also appeared in a pair of NCAA Tournaments (2009, 2010) as well as the 2012 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT). Led by thirdyear head coach Andrew Toole, the Colonials earned an automatic bid to the 2013 NIT thanks to claiming the 2013 Northeast Conference regular-season championship with a record of 14-4 (.778) in league play. RMU is led by junior guard Karvel Anderson, who averages a team-high 12.7 points per game and leads the Colonials with 78 three-pointers.

The Colonials opened their 2012-13 campaign by taking part in the NIT Season Tip-Off, posting a record of 3-1 (.750) in the tourney thanks in large part to home victories over Bowling Green (11/19/12) and Cleveland State (11/20/12). RMU has done a stellar job protecting its home court in recent years, as the Colonials have won at least 11 games at “The Chuck” in each of the last eight seasons, compiling a record of 93-23 (.802) over that span. So far in 2012-13, Robert Morris is 12-3 (.800) at home and have been led by junior guard Karvel Anderson and sophomore forward Lucky Jones. Anderson has averaged 12.9 points in 14 games at the Sewall Center this season, while Jones has produced averages of 12.4 points and 5.9 rebounds in 15 contests. The duo has been especially lethal from beyond the arc, combining to shoot 55.9 percent (62-for-111) from deep.

Walker was one of three players to reach double figures in scoring for Robert Morris, joining Gabe Jackson (1992-95) and Bubba Donnelly (199195). Jackson added 14 points and six rebounds, while Donnelly contributed 13 points.
