Senior forward Mike McFadden added 12 points and nine rebounds against the Tigers, while junior guard Charles Oliver came off the bench to supply 12 points. Thanks to the win over Savannah State, Robert Morris improved to 20-18 (.526) all-time in season openers. RMU’s tilt against the Leopards begins a stretch in which the Colonials will play 14 of their next 17 games on the road. Robert Morris will take part in the Keightley Classic after squaring off with Lafayette Tuesday, beginning with a 7:30 p.m. tip @ Eastern Michigan Thursday, Nov. 14. Quick Stat of the Night - Senior guard Karvel Anderson picked up right where he left off last season in RMU’s season opener against Savannah State (11/9/13), scoring 18 of his game-high 21 points in the second half of an 86-66 victory over the Tigers at the Charles L. Sewall Center. Anderson shot 7-for-12 from the floor, including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc, in producing his sixth career contest eclipsing the 20-point plateau. In Anderson’s two seasons in a Robert Morris uniform, the Colonials own a perfect 6-0 record when he scores at least 20 points in a game as well as a 4-0 mark when he connects for at least five three-pointers in a contest. As a team, RMU finished 11-for-21 (52.4 percent) from beyond the arc against SSU to improve to 24-3 (.889) in four seasons under head coach Andrew Toole when hitting at least 10 three-poiners in a game.
