Quick Hits • The Robert Morris University men’s basketball team concludes a three-game homestand at the Charles L. Sewall Center Saturday with a 4:00 p.m. tip against Duquesne. The Colonials have dropped the first two games of their homestand and are 0-3 at home for the first time since the 2001-02 campaign. • RMU is coming off a 74-59 loss to Buffalo (12/7/14). Freshman guard Marcquise Reed led the Colonials against the Bulls with 18 points, converting eight of his 12 attempts from the field and going 2-for-3 from the free-throw line while registering three steals. • Also scoring in double figures against Buffalo was senior forward Lucky Jones, who finished with 12 points. Off the bench, junior guard Rodney Pryor scored 10 points and freshman forward Elijah Minnie registered his first collegiate double-double with 10 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. • Robert Morris opened its homestand with an 89-81 setback to Youngstown State (12/2/14) as the Penguins shot 54.1 percent (33-for-61) from the field, a season-high by an RMU opponent. • Senior forward Lucky Jones led the Colonials against Youngstown State with 21 points and five rebounds off the bench, while junior guard Rodney Pryor contributed 14 points. • RMU entertains Duquesne Saturday having shot 49.5 percent (54-for-109) from the field over the first two games of its homestand, including 31.7 percent (13-for-41) from beyond the arc. • Exactly half of RMU’s double-figure scoring games (10-of-20) through the first eight games of the 2014-15 campaign have come from the bench. Each of Rodney Pryor’s five double-figure scoring games have come as a reserve, as the junior guard is averaging 16.2 points over his last six games while shooting 59.6 percent (31-for-52) from the field. • Led by fifth-year head coach Andrew Toole, the Colonials return three starters and six letterwinners from a 2013-14 squad that finished with an overall record of 22-14 (.611), RMU’s ninth straight winning season. • The Colonials were picked third in the 2014 NEC Preseason Coaches Poll, the ninth consecutive year RMU has been selected to finish in the top three in the league. Senior forward Lucky Jones, named to the 2014 Preseason All-NEC Team, is RMU’s active leading scorer and rebounder with career totals of 1,292 points and 706 rebounds. • From 2007-08 through the 2013-14 campaign, Robert Morris compiled an overall record of 163-81 (.668), with the 163 victories tied for seventh with Akron among mid-major programs in the seven-year span. • Robert Morris takes to the road after hosting Duquesne with a 7:00 p.m. tip against Toledo Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Savage Arena in Toledo, Ohio, in a game that can be seen live on ESPN3.
