Quick Hits • The Robert Morris University men’s basketball team looks to post back-to-back wins for the first time this season Wednesday when it travels to Toledo, Ohio, for a 7:00 p.m. tip against Toledo at John F. Savage Arena. • RMU avoided dropping its first four home games to start a season by concluding a threegame homestand with a 75-59 victory over Duquesne (12/13/14). Junior guard Rodney Pryor led the Colonials with 25 points, finishing 9-for-12 shooting from the floor, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, while going 3-for-4 at the free-throw line. For his efforts, Pryor was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week (12/15/14). • Sophomore guard Kavon Stewart registered his first collegiate double-double in the win over the Dukes by establishing career highs in points (12) and assists (11), while freshman forward Elijah Minnie posted his second consecutive double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman guard Marcquise Reed also added 10 points in the victory. • Robert Morris is in its best offensive stretch of the season entering Wednesday’s game @ Toledo, as the Colonials averaged 71.7 points during their three-game homestand while shooting 48.5 percent (80-for-165) from the field, including 34.6 percent (18-for52) from beyond the arc. • Over its last seven games, Robert Morris has eight players averaging between 18.3 and 29.2 minutes per contest, and during that stretch seven Colonials are averaging between 3.0 and 6.0 rebounds per game. As a team during that stretch, RMU owns a +0.3 margin in rebounding, averaging 35.9 per game compared to 35.6 for its opponents. • Senior forward Lucky Jones missed RMU’s victory over Duquesne due to a finger injury, snapping his streak of consecutive games played at 63. Sophomore guard Kavon Stewart now owns the longest streak, having played in 38 straight contests. • Led by fifth-year head coach Andrew Toole, the Colonials return three starters and six letterwinners from a 2013-14 squad that finished with an overall record of 22-14 (.611), RMU’s ninth straight winning season. • The Colonials were picked third in the 2014 NEC Preseason Coaches Poll, the ninth consecutive year RMU has been selected to finish in the top three in the league. Senior forward Lucky Jones, named to the 2014 Preseason All-NEC Team, is RMU’s active leading scorer and rebounder with career totals of 1,292 points and 706 rebounds. • From 2007-08 through the 2013-14 campaign, Robert Morris compiled an overall record of 163-81 (.668), with the 163 victories tied for seventh with Akron among mid-major programs in the seven-year span. • Robert Morris returns home to the Charles L. Sewall Center after taking on the Rockets with a 7:00 p.m. tip against Delaware Monday, Dec. 22. The Colonials close out their 2014-15 non-conference slate Tuesday, Dec. 30, with a 7:00 p.m. tip @ Clemson.
